Buffalo leather cleaners will remove dirt only; certain stains can be improved but not removed such as dye transfer from clothing.
Q – I've been told I need a leather food...What is this ?
A – Traditional leather food tends to contain waxes & oils & can be time consuming to apply, this is fine for saddles & natural outdoor leather, but it is not always suitable for car or upholstery leather, our Buffalo leather conditioner or Leather Protector is our recommendation for any leather type.
Q – What is the correct routine for cleaning aniline leather ?
A – Most dirt on an aniline surface absorbs into the leather, hence the reason why stains cannot be removed. LEATHER PROBLEMS FAQS
Q – How can I prevent my leather from peeling ?
A – The simple answer is – You can't, this is a manufacturing problem. To repair peeling leather a good technician will be required to stabilize your problem using a leather bonder; we have a list of leather care & repair specialist technicians for your area on our home page.
Q – I have cracked leather seats.
A – We suggest the Buffalo Leather Colour Restoration Kit, which will re-colour & recoat the cracks & prevent them from getting worse & turning into full splits in the leather. It's a very easy to use kit which includes a leather sealant to give long lasting results for larger areas.
Q – I have a dark grease stain on my leather where my head has been, can this be removed.
A – This depends on how old the stain is & if it's penetrated through the leather. We have a leather grease remover, at best it will remove the stain, if it does not remove it fully it will remove enough to prevent the rotting that grease can cause.
Q - I have pen ink that I can't remove with a cleaner.
A - If the stain is quite fresh, Buffalo Leather Ink & Stain Remover Kit should remove it. This is a very strong solvent and can sometimes remove the colour of your leather if not used correctly; this is a kit we suggest you purchase before you need it as it can prevent costly repairs.
Q - I have an old stain / pen dye on my leather - can this be removed?
A - We would suggest our Buffalo Leather Repair Kit standard size - and the Buffalo ink & stain remover to partially remove & re-colour over the area if the stain cannot be fully removed.
